new location:
Lansing (Delta Twp.), MI 48917
You can be sure that Dimitri's Restaurant is the friendly place where you'll want to have your next meal because Dimitri's Restaurant has been a Lansing tradition since 1974
Dimitri's original location in downtown Lansing was known for it's unique combination of friendly service and power lunches.
It was a people watchers paradise one of the few places where you could easily
see top players and humble staffers from government and industry, including Michigan legislators, governors, and sports stars, sitting side-by-side with the common
folks whose sweat and strength built the products that have helped sustain Lansing's growth in an ever-changing competitive landscape.
Former Governors John Engler and James Blanchard used to frequent Dimitri's for rice pudding, the Lansing State Journal reports.
Still, it was the food and family friendliness that always took center stage, no matter which lawmaker, lobbyist, or private citizen
sat there discussing legislation and political intrigue. All were, and still are, welcomed at Dimitri's Restaurant.
Because from the beginning, no matter who you were, founder Dimitri Stathopoulos, his family, and his long-time employees were always there to greet you with a friendly smile, to ask you how
your day was going, and to offer you some upbeat conversation along with your enjoyment of their delicious coney dogs, hot french fries, or traditional breakfast items
for the early risers who knew that Dimitri's Restaurant was the way to start their day before heading to the office.
As a long-time columnist for the Lansing State Journal wrote, We went there often in the old days for the kraut dogs, the olive burgers,
the Coney Islands. [They] made our taste buds dance.
Now, lead by Dimitri's son Stamati, Dimitri's Restaurant has moved to Delta Township, on the west side of Lansing.
As described in a 2011 Lansing City Pulse article, In Delta Township, Dimitri's atmosphere has transformed into a casual space where frazzled professionals find a quiet retreat,
families gather to celebrate graduations, or grown children treat their parents to a relaxing dinner with no cleanup.
It's expanded menu and dinner service offer a little more refinement versus the old days, but you'll still find your
favorite menu items (and more) to fill your body with the energy it needs from a great meal.
We still have the best french fries, olive burgers and rice pudding. People come in and say, Get me the fix the fix means Coney dogs.
[Dimitri's] brought everyone from the old restaurant to the new location. It's true when they say, We have great employees who are really dedicated.
Dimitri's Restaurant is still the family atmosphere that you'll want to enjoy again and again. Join us, today!
